It is a community initiative based in South London that has transformed a disused plot of land into a pioneering space that showcases the most exciting independent businesses from Brixton and Lambeth, providing a new destination that supports them to set up shop and share space, skills and ideas.
As well as providing a space local businesses need to thrive, Pop works with tenants to make a positive difference in the community. They invest all their time and skills into charitable projects, provide free space for community events of every kind, and host regular open workshops ranging from kid's art classes to horticulture training in our community garden.
The Nice Things worked with Pop for six months from the launch across brand development, web design, social media, press and marketing and content creation.
LOGO AND IDENTITY
Pop Brixton is built from shipping containers in South London area Brixton which is populated with a large afro-caribbean community. Key for the logo was intimating the physical space of the container park with primary colours and prints synonymous with african fabrics to create the broader digital identity. The logo needed to feel bright, vibrant and reflective of the local community of Brixton in which the space is located.
The website was built on WIX to enable easy content management by any member of the team. We designed it with a carousel homepage to promote the actual space whilst delivering some of the key messages to the community.
SOCIAL MEDIA CREATIVE, STRATEGY AND MANAGEMENT
Pop Brixton is a multi-functional space. Contained under the umbrella brand are food and fashion businesses, an event space, a co-working studio as well as various community projects. The Nice Things strategised social across three channels, ensuring a space for the various bodies to amplify their individual voices whilst also adding value to the local community and building the overall brand values.
The Nice Things strategised, produced and delivered content enabling viewers to learn about the kind of businesses at Pop as well as some of the more emotive community focussed projects. Enticing photography and video assets were created on an on-going basis to not only educate followers but also compel fans of the brand to visits the site for the various events.
